Nemosyne
I must be in a music mood tonight

Seriously, this is the last post before I go color my hair. (I'm going two-toned. It's gonna be cool! Pix to come...)

I've heard this song since I was very little. I'm not sure, but I seem to remember my mom saying it was originally written by Martin Mull. Mom edited it to be more gender-relative (of course) and used to sing it to us often. As a kid, I thought it was hilarious. I just never realized how true it until I had my own little ones.

KIDS

They piddle in a puddle in the middle of the driveway
They pick their nose and they throw their food
They fall out of bed in the middle of the night
'Cause something in their dreams said "BOO!"

They'll jump in your bed and take all your covers
And you'll shiver 'till your buns turn blue
Then you'll wake up in the morning, little fingers in your eyes
'Cause that's what little kids do

They'll eat green beans if they find 'em in the carpet
They'll eat anything stuck to their shoe
Leaves, bugs, second-hand bubble gum
'Cause that's what little kids do

You're gonna need a lot of Band-Aids and iodine
Adhesive tape, methiolate, Vap-o-Rub, and Calamine
Chapstick, Q-tips, Vaseline, & Tylenol
And every now and then a little Pepto Bismol

You can buy 'em chocolate ice cream and they'll drop it on the sidewalk
You buy another ice cream... They'll drop that too
Then they'll get real sick and they'll throw up in the hallway
That's what little kids do

They'll get real sick... but never in the bathroom
Usually on your favorite shoe!
You're so mad that you could cuss.
They're goin' "Blah Blah Blah"
That's what little kids do

But one day they're gonna be older and stronger
And do the things that they could not do
One day they're gonna say "Look at my old Mom...
Now she can't even tie her shoe. She.........

Piddles in a puddle in the middle of the driveway
She picks her nose. She gums her food.
She falls out of bed in the middle of the nightime
Just like little kids do"

And around and around we go...We're just like little kids too!
